Currently, two curricula are running in the FKM Unhas Public Health Undergraduate Study Program. Students from the Class before 2023 must complete a minimum of 144 credits (230.4 ECTS) using the 2020 curriculum, and students from the Class of 2023 must complete 144-154 credits (230.4-246.4 ECTS) using the 2023 curriculum.
The Hasanuddin University Public Health Curriculum is made into three clusters for the 2020 curriculum and 4 clusters for the 2023 curriculum, namely:
This course is a mandatory university course provided by Unhas under the Technical Implementation Unit called General Courses. This course is presented in semesters 1 and 2 for 12 credits (19.2 ECTS).
This course is available in semesters 2 to 4 in the 2020 curriculum and in semesters 1-6 in the 2023 curriculum for 119 credits (190.4 ECTS). This course equips students with knowledge and skills in public health science and is the main competency of a Bachelor of Public Health.
In the fifth semester, students must choose a specialization based on seven departments/specialization. Prerequisite courses require a certain minimum score in (A, A-, B+) to choose a specialization. Specifically for the 2023 curriculum, 14-20 credits ( 22.4-32 ECTS) were provided in the specialization courses. At the end of semester 7 or 8 (specifically for the 2023 curriculum, in semester 7), students must carry out community service and write a thesis. Courses in the specialization support the main competencies of a Bachelor of Public Health. The following are the differences in competencies expected in each Department/Specialization:
Health Administration and Policy
Biostatistics/KKB
Epidemiology
Occupational Safety and Health
Environmental Health
Hospital Management
Health Promotion and Behavioral Science
The 2023 curriculum has 10 credits (16 ECTS) of mandatory courses called Competency Supporting Courses or “MKPK”. These courses are the implementation of “the Independent Learning curriculum” with 20 courses, which are conversions of various activities outside the Class that students participate in, such as competitions, organizations, committees, scientific events, and community services. This activity can be followed by students and converted from semester 1.
